What Makes Liberty Homes Different

Liberty was incorporated in 1829, making it one of the oldest incorporated towns west of the Mississippi River, and that age is everywhere downtown. The Courthouse Square sits at the center of multiple historic districts, including the West and South Liberty Courthouse Square Districts and, just west of the square, the Dougherty-Prospect Heights District full of late-nineteenth and early-twentieth-century houses. The city counts well over 200 preserved historic homes and buildings.

Homes from that era almost always have original wood floors, and in the historic districts the work calls for a period-appropriate, careful approach, with sensitivity to the character that makes those neighborhoods worth preserving.

Liberty is also a growing community, so beyond the square there are newer family neighborhoods where fresh installs are the norm.
